Avon - Labor Market Analysis
Labor market analysis in support of new domestic warehouse

Avon logoAvon had investigated prospective locations in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia for a new US distribution center that was to open by the first quarter of 2008. The planned facility will be approximately 600,000 sf and employ about 1,000 in multiple shifts.

BLS conducted a comparison of warehouse labor markets to help inform Avon's location decision-making. We examined labor supply, demand, quality, and cost indicators including present and projected population levels, unemployment rates, education attainment, unionization, wage and income levels.

RESULTS:

  • Space: 600,000 sf
  • Jobs: 1,000
  • Incentives: NA
